  • Overview

    Coordinates the relationship between OnPoint and the underlying mortgage loan investors including handling investor reporting, remitting, and supporting reconciliation and other functions. Conducts research to ensure compliance with agency regulations, secondary marketing guidelines, and OnPoint’s policies and procedures. Performs basic mortgage loan servicing functions to include loan payments, escrow management, servicing of investor accounts, collections for delinquent loans, and loan set up and payoff process.


    • Perform daily and monthly investor reporting tasks (loan changes, payments, payoffs, repurchases, foreclosures, and clearing discrepancies and/or edits).
    • Remit investor loan funds timely as scheduled by each investor. Review and process investor invoices/statements while ensuring the investor accounts in XP2 are accurately funded.
    • Perform regular audits against investor reporting on reported and remitted loan amounts.
    • Assist with the investor reconciliations to include researching and resolving outstanding items
    • Handle investor Notes held by The Bank of New York Mellon.
    • Responsible for adherence to Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and FHA guidelines, along with, all federal regulations (RESPA, Regulation Z, Homeowners Protection Act, Federal Disaster Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act) with respect to servicing of loans.
    • Assist Collections in the calculation, processing, and documentation of mortgage loan modifications.
    • Perform general mortgage servicing functions to include: posting payments in accordance with the secondary market; processing monthly adjustable loan changes in accordance with the terms of the Note and Regulation Z; processing loan payoffs and reconveyances; and properly maintaining escrow accounts.
    • Complete daily balancing practices including balancing personal daily work totals, entries into the proper investor accounts in XP2. Balance secondary marketing accounts (P&I and T&I), as well as, other credit union GL accounts.
    • Respond and process member requests such as adding/removing escrow accounts, loan re-amortizations, waivers of private mortgage insurance, updating ACH.
    • Conform with all applicable credit union regulations in additional to state and federal laws relating to the servicing of mortgage loans.
    • Assist with special projects and other duties as required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Proficient understanding of accounting and reconciliation processes.
    • Demonstrated advanced understanding of all areas relating to mortgage servicing, with specific emphasis on servicing regulation and agency guidelines.
    • Proven research and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to perform detailed tasks accurately and efficiently.
    • Ability to coordinate and prioritize workload.
    • Effective and concise analytical skills and ability to translate into easily understood written material.
    • Ability to be self-directed.
    • Ability to work well as part of a team, with strong interpersonal communication skills.
    • Well versed with pleasant telephone communication skills.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • 2 years experience in mortgage investor relations and GL reconciliations, preferred.
    • 2 years mortgage servicing experience or similar loan servicing type of experience, preferred.
    • Knowledge of Freddie and Fannie Mac agency guidelines preferred.
    • FICS Mortgage Servicer experience a plus
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
